Moving to MailChimp..(thanks Google!)

Just a quick note to let you know that I am changing my blog post delivery system from Google feedburner to Mailchimp.

Google feedburner delivers my blog posts into your inbox each week.

MailChimp is just a different way of delivering the same posts. MailChimp offers more options, flexibility and reliability.

You do not need to do anything.

Okay, let me rephrase that. You may not need to do anything.

I have manually transferred your subscription from Google to MailChimp and so posts delivery should go on uninterrupted .

However and due to the fact that am low on tech-skills, I might still need to tweak some things along the way.

That said, I believe the change over should be smooth but here is my email incase you need to shoot something my way; ngina(at)intentionaltoday(dot)com

Thanks for staying awesome and for allowing me to speak into your life.

    I like The Mailchimp Crew!
The one thing I dread is this message from them that I’ve gotten way more than I’ve wanted to, “Nuts! You’ve lost another Mailchimp subscriber… I guess they just weren’t that into you!”

At least it makes me smile!

ha! i have already received one like that! made my heart stop when i saw it. I thought “they are dropping me before i even send out a single campaign?!” Then i realized it was my email address…I was running tests on it..subscribing on and off. :) yeah, it’s no fun…but it’s funny!

I’ve always been telling myself to do it because I have all my other lists in Mailchimp but I was too lazy to do my blog. Thanks Ngina for the inspiration to get mine done. This is awesome… Thanks.

Just thought it’s a better way to manage subscriptions and prepare for bigger things ahead :) Awesome that you are already on board.

You will be glad you made the switch. I made it a little too late and lost all 100+ email subscribers. Now, I have to restart.

Brandon, you didn’t import them over? Or were they RSS subscribers?

      • http://www.brandongilliland.com/ Brandon Gilliland

Some were RSS subscribers, but I did not know how to import over when I originally set everything up. When my old wordpress site was deleted, I lost all of that info.
A bad mistake on my part.

Lincoln, am trying to figure out how to import/manually transfer rss subscribers. is there a way?

        • http://www.lincolnparks.com Lincoln Parks

For rss subscribers because they are subscribed via the browser I don’t believe there is a way to import rss subscribers since there is no way to actually track who they are. Only email subscribers as far as I know..

I hate to say this, but I don’t even know if I have rss subscribers. I added a little button to my website a long time ago, but I have no idea what it connects to! :(

          • http://intentionaltoday.com/ Ngina Otiende

Lol! Do you remember signing up/creating an account with feedburner.google.com/ before adding the button? I’ve clicked the button on your site and it seems to be working fine.

            • http://www.barbraveling.com/ Barb Raveling

I vaguely remember it, but I’ve tried different usernames and can’t find one I used. Oh well!

              • http://intentionaltoday.com/ Ngina Otiende

:( . Still, if you are going to use the rss template in mailchimp, you’ll need to access the feed. we can talk more via email : )

Oh, you’re so smart – yes, I will have to e-mail you.

Thanks Brandon. Sorry about that loss. It’s not easy to rebuild email lists! Am trying to figure out how to import rss subscriptions cos I’d like to use mail-chimp exclusively.
