Where is God when storms, hurricanes, fires, earthquakes, famines and other natural disasters strike?
If you’ve been reading or watching the news lately, you’ve seen the devastation caused by the two Atlantic storms, Harvey and Irma.
Hundreds of thousands of people have been affected and many lives have been lost. Countless lost their homes, earthly possessions. And hope. The hit to the economy is estimated to be in the billions.
I’ve been thinking and wrestling in prayer over the state of our world: because for every disaster that makes it to national and international news, there are tens more that don’t.
We don’t have a pulse on each and every storm and heartbreak of the world, and perhaps that’s for our good because possibly we couldn’t bear the agony.
Nonetheless, for what we see and what we know, our hearts churn. I’ve been praying and talking to God, as many have.
Last week, as Hurricane Irma tore through the Caribbean, I taped a video and planned to share it over the weekend. But it got corrupted and failed to upload. So I taped again this week, and I’ve just uploaded it to YouTube.
