Recently I was thinking about Christ’s words in Luke 19:40 “…I tell you that if these keep silent, the very stones will cry out.”
Jesus was responding to the Pharisees who had asked Him to silence the crowds following His entry into Jerusalem.
Christ’s words got me thinking how sometimes I feel as though I’ve left God in a fix when I fail to accomplish something I set out to do.
We all have issues
When it comes to chasing dreams, we all start at the same level – with some baggage.
Like me, you might sometimes feel as though God cannot get things done without your involvement.
Or you might be on the other extreme (and I’ve been there too) thinking that if God wants to do something through you, He will get it done without your intentional involvement.
Here’s something I have learned though.
God wants to use us.
But He doesn’t do it because He’s out of options.
He uses us because He wants to.
Nonetheless if we turn down His invitation, He will find someone else to do the job.
And here’s the other thing.
You can’t be half-in half out.
If you say yes to purpose, yes to the dream He’s put within you, you got to go all the way.
You won’t go far if you jump into the car but refuse to step on the gas.
You got to engage something within you to move forward.
And that “something within you” is stepping up in faith, saying yes in your mind and living out in actions what your heart has believed.
Here’s some questions we can consider today.
Do we see ourselves and God as partners?
Personally and because of how I grew up, I used to see God as a hard task master.
Do we have wounds and mindsets to overcome?
Why do you think God wants to involve you in His plans?
Why does He need you?
I think when we the answers to some of the “why’s” of our dreams, we’ll then be able to leap away from the starting blocks and run our race.
