Here’s What a Healthy Marriage Actually Looks Like

|

We know we don’t want the bad marriage stuff, but what does a good marriage actually look like?

Not everyone who reads my blog is married or wants to get married. I also know many are dealing with very difficult marriage situations.

Others, like myself, are fortunate to be married to kind-hearted, growth-oriented spouses and are deeply disturbed when wayward relating is presented as the norm or something we must tolerate.

what a healthy marriage looks like

One thing we all have in common is a desire for healthier teachings and beliefs about marriage. We want better for ourselves and for others.

And this week, I released a new resource to help with the better. Because it’s not enough to know the bad stuff, we also want to know how the good stuff actually looks like.

So what does a healthy marriage really look like?

I remember feeling hesitant, wondering if my relationships could actually be good and meaningful without pretzeling ourselves into the latest idea from dr google, marriage mentors and Christian media.

But I finally realized: It’s not about bagging the best-presenting couple award; it’s about creating space for curiosity and genuine interest in each other.

It’s about being honest with ourselves regarding our true nature and areas for growth, rather than conforming to societal expectations or the standards we impose on ourselves.

And the good news is…I wrote The Newlyweds to make this process easier for couples just starting out and at any stage of relationship.

The newlyweds wives deserve to be happy in marriage

I’ve already received a few questions and I thought to write out a few answers to more questions you may have!

I wrote the book to help individuals understand what a healthy marriage dynamic looks like so they can be more discerning. Because so many come into marriage with unhelpful societal or religious conditioning, sometimes it takes a long time to figure out areas of possible change. If you’re interested in a deeply nuanced approach to marriage, The Newlyweds will help you explore health, mutuality, and happiness in marriage, no matter how long you’ve been married.

The Newlyweds is for every person who read all the bad marriage books, heard all the bad teachings and now wants to learn how a healthy marriage actually looks like. If you want to explore what a healthy marriage dynamic looks like so you can better support your clarity or that of your family, friends, and community, The Newlywed will help you do that.

The Newlyweds is for anyone looking to understand themselves and build a deep, meaningful connection with their partner. It is simple, accessible, and down-to-earth. You are worth investing in.

Nope! While my primary audience is women, the principles shared apply to all, as maturity and health are not limited by gender.  Here’s a fun tip: partners can read and work through the book together!

Discounts going away in a few hours

On Monday, I told you about the discounted prices. The discount goes away today at 4PM Central Time.

Married Christians don’t get a pass: they don’t get to practice remorseless unkindness, immaturity, disrespect, pride, unfaithfulness, and call it “the married life” because the married life is, in fact, the Christian life.) We can have better marriage teachings and values.
